CSRC to issue rules on safe AI use in China’s securities and futures industry

China Securities Regulatory Commission building in Beijing

CSRC chairman Wu Qing said at the 2026 Financial Street Forum, which opened in Beijing on October 19, that the regulator will soon issue an opinion on the safe and compliant use of artificial intelligence in the securities and futures industry, covering business development and data security and encouraging use in risk control and investment research. At the forum’s fintech conference, CSRC vice chairman Liu Haoling called for full-lifecycle management of AI, including access assessment, dynamic monitoring and emergency response.

Why it matters: Brokers and fund houses are already rolling out AI “digital employees” and advisory assistants. The opinion will set the compliance baseline for those deployments, alongside the NFRA’s existing guidance on AI in banking and insurance.
