HKEX Integrated Fund Platform adds nominee services as brokers begin fund orders

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) launched Platform and Nominee Services on its Integrated Fund Platform (IFP) on October 28. From that day, distributors, brokers included, can subscribe to and redeem funds for their clients through the platform.

The new services add master distribution, nominee and administrative functions. HKEX said they cover the holding and administration of fund units, the cash flows for payment and settlement, and reconciliation and reporting. They follow the Fund Repository, launched in December 2024, and the Order Routing Service, launched in July 2025. Participants have grown from 33 at the order routing launch to more than 60 distributors, fund houses and transfer agents.

At the launch ceremony, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui said the platform now supports a more end-to-end digital workflow for fund distribution. He gave these figures:

  • Hong Kong assets under management: a record HK$42.2 trillion at the end of 2025, up 20% year on year
  • Net fund inflows in 2025: HK$2.1 trillion, almost three times the year before
  • Funds listed in the IFP Fund Repository: more than 2,000 SFC-authorised funds

Why it matters: HKEX says the new services are meant to reduce fragmentation in how Hong Kong funds are onboarded, ordered, settled and reconciled. A shared nominee and settlement layer lowers the cost for a fund manager to reach many brokers, and for a small broker to offer many funds. The SFC noted that onboarded distributors include firms eligible for Cross-boundary Wealth Management Connect in the Greater Bay Area, so the platform also touches mainland investors. HKEX has not published order or asset figures, and those will show how much live business moves onto it.
