Hengqin’s WeSure partners Malaysia’s Revenue IF on payments and insurance in Southeast Asia

Zhuhai Hengqin WeSure Digital Technology signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Bursa Malaysia-listed Revenue IF covering cross-border payments, aggregated payment solutions for insurers and joint development of insurance-related business in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. The agreement runs for an initial three years and renews automatically for one year at a time, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Why it matters: The deal pairs a Hengqin-based Chinese insurtech with a local partner that already holds a payment licence and clearing and settlement infrastructure, a common route for Chinese fintechs entering Southeast Asia without building licences from scratch. Because it is a framework agreement, its commercial impact will depend on the definitive agreements that follow.
